About this ebook

DON'T BE THE LAST TO DISCOVER THE SERIES THAT EVERYONE CAN'T STOP TALKING ABOUT:

Get ready for the breathtaking follow-up to global phenomenons Fourth Wing and Iron Flame from the no. 1 Sunday Times and New York Times bestselling author Rebecca Yarros.

ARE YOU READY TO BRAVE THE DARK?

After nearly eighteen months at Basgiath War College, Violet Sorrengail knows there's no more time for lessons. No more time for uncertainty. Because the battle has truly begun, and with enemies closing in from outside their walls and within their ranks, it's impossible to know who to trust.

Now Violet must journey beyond the failing Aretian wards to seek allies from unfamiliar lands to stand with Navarre. The trip will test every bit of her wit, luck, and strength, but she will do anything to save what she loves - her dragons, her family, her home, and him.

Even if it means keeping a secret so big, it could destroy everything.

They need an army. They need power. They need magic. And they need the one thing only Violet can find - the truth.

But a storm is coming... and not everyone can survive its wrath.

a very slow start. there was so much to do yet the time was wasted at the start. the first 100 pages could be explained in much shorter time leaving more room for extra xadens pov. the end was disappointing too and felt it's more of a set up for the next book. the irids could have had a longer story too as it was a whole point of 2/3 of the book. it felt rushed. nearly 700 pages and not much has happened really. island hopping was predictive and so was time on it. Iron flame and fourth wing were much better.

I've read the three books in the series and loved them all. At the start I never thought I would enjoy them as much as I did but Violet just gets under your skin and you want her to have a happy ending 😭. The reason I only gave this one 4 stars is because I found the ending a bit confusing and think it ended very abruptly, this wouldn't stop me from recommending the books to anyone who likes this genre.

I absolutely loved this book. Its pace was a bit more subdued, in parts, compared to the first two books, but it wasn't detrimental to the enjoyment of my read at all. In fact, it also has a lot of crazy, heart-stopping sections in it.🤩 As the blurb suggested, there are secrets, losses, and heartbreaks, but it also has so much character growth for nearly everyone as well as reveals and wins!⭐️ I loved all of the added politics and tension caused by Venin now being known throughout the continent & griffin riders being at Basgiath!👀 We finally learn, once and for all, what Violet and Garrick's signets are.😉 What Papa Sorrengail's name is, and where and what his research is about. Also, about why her hair is silver!😱 There is much, much more revealed as well, which had my jaw clanging.💥 This was another amazing Dragon and Gryphon ride, for those of us brave enough to take it. Bravo to Rebecca Yarros for another outstanding read. Thank you.🙏🏼😍 Debbie, 1970, UK
